Work On The Palisades Parkway Starting Monday

Closures, each side, mostly at night

Construction work on the Palisades Interstate Parkway is anticipated to result in single lane closures and full closures of the Parkway between Exit 13 (Route 202) and Exit 18 (Route 6) beginning Monday. Crews will be performing construction activities, weather permitting, through June.

Construction work will occur Mondays through Thursdays, DOT officials said.

Full closures of portions of the northbound side of the of the Parkway are expected to occur between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. Full closures of the southbound side of the Parkway are expected to occur between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. Full closures will only occur on one side of the Parkway at a time.

Some single lane closures on this portion of the northbound Parkway may also occur between 8 p.m. and noon on weekdays.

Follow posted detours during the closures, and anticipate delays.

Use caution when traveling through the work zone area and pay particular attention to flaggers and all traffic control devices, including signs.

Remember that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.
