$500K Hotel Suite Among NYC's Priciest Rentals

Rich renters have a big range of options in the five boroughs, from a $7,300 Queens apartment to an entire floor of a hotel, a report says.

NEW YORK — More money, more options. Deep-pocketed renters have a huge range of choices in New York City's housing market, from a $7,300 apartment that tops Queens' listings to a half-million-dollar hotel suite on Manhattan's Upper East Side, a recent report says.

The home-search and data analysis website Localize.city examined the Big Apple's most expensive rentals for well-heeled New Yorkers who don't want to put down roots by buying a property.

Manhattan dominates the report with its top five homes renting for more than $100,000 a month. But big spenders can also find more modest abodes in Queens or The Bronx, the report shows.

Manhattan's crown jewel is currently an entire floor of the Pierre Hotel at 795 Fifth Ave. renting for $500,000 a month. Whoever snags the 4,786-square-foot, six-bedroom pad will get 360-degree city views and 15 hours of sunlight a day, Localize.city says. Another unit at the building is going for $125,000 a month, according to the report.

The luxe unit offers a stark contrast to Queens's most expensive rental, a $7,385-a-month, five-bedroom apartment at 28-18 Jackson Ave. in Long Island City. The brand-new building is fewer than 20 minutes from Midtown and comes with a doorman, pool and rooftop deck, according to Localize.city.

Brooklyn's most expensive rental is roughly four times that price. The four-bedroom duplex at 90 Furman St. in Brooklyn Bridge Park rents for $28,000 a month. Three other Brooklyn Heights homes join it among Kings County's five priciest rentals, according to Localize.city.

The Bronx might offer the best bargain in the city: The highest-priced rental there is an eight-bedroom house at 5041 Goodridge Ave. going for $17,950 a month, Localize.city says. While the commute to Midtown by public transit takes almost an hour and a half, the home comes with a three-car garage and a private pool, according to the report.
