12 Tickets, 3 Charges For Rockland Driver

State police wanted to issue a traffic ticket on Route 202 but ended up making an arrest on the Palisades Parkway.

CLARKSTOWN, NY — A New York State trooper's attempt to stop a motorist on Route 202 ended in an arrest after the driver sped recklessly down the Palisades Parkway, police said.

The incident began at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday when a trooper saw a 2006 Toyota Corolla on State Route 202 in Haverstraw violating the vehicle and traffic law.

Police said the driver refused to stop when the trooper signaled, instead entering the parkway and driving south, weaving around other cars at up to 85 mph.
