18 Tickets, Charges After Police Chase On Palisades Parkway

The Bronx driver exceeded 100 mph, state police said.

STONY POINT, NY — A New York State trooper patrolling the Palisades Interstate Parkway in Stony Point observed a 2014 BMW in violation of the New York State vehicle and traffic laws at 8:40 p.m. Wednesday.

The trooper attempted to stop the car but the driver sped away. The pursuit reached a top speed of 105 mph and covered four miles before the BMW struck a guide rail on the ST-293 on-ramp and came to a stop, police said.

Police took the driver, Trevor S. Calder, 37, into custody temporarily.

They issued 18 tickets. The Bronx resident was also charged with Fleeing an Officer in a Motor Vehicle 3rd degree, Reckless Driving, Aggravated Unlicensed Operator 3rd degree, Obstruction of Governmental Administration, Reckless Endangerment 2nd degree (all misdemeanors) and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 2nd degree, a violation.

He was issued an appearance ticket returnable to Stony Point Town Court Feb. 4.
