Bob Knight, Clarkstown Historian, Dies At 78

Knight was an author and a journalist.

CLARKSTOWN, NY — Clarkstown town historian Bob Knight died April 1 at the age of 78. Knight was an author and former Journal News reporter, lohud.com said.

According to the Historical Society of Rockland County Facebook page, Knight authored, co-wrote or edited many news article about Rockland County’s history.

He served as chairman of the Clarkstown Historical Review Board and was an advisor to the Rockland County Historic Preservation Board.

Knight was also a founding charter member of the Historical Society of Rockland County, which honored him in 2015 for its 50th anniversary.

He was one of three recipients of the society’s Golden Anniversary Award.

Funerals arrangements have not been announced as of Thursday, lohud.com said.
