Boston Marathon 2016 Results: How Did New City Runners Do?

A Hudson Valley resident finished in the top 15.

A pair of Ethiopians were crowned 2016 Boston Marathon champions, and tens of thousands more were winners Monday afternoon on Boylston Street.

Lemi Berhanu Hayle bested defending champ Lelisa Desisa in the men’s race, finishing at 2:12:45, very modest for a Boston-winning time. Desisa, also from Ethiopia, ran a 2:13:32, while a third countryman, Adhane Tsegay, clocked a 2:14:02.

For the first time since 1986, a Massachusetts native finished in the men's top 10. Zachary Hines, a South Hadley native who lives in Dallas, finished 10th with a time of 2:21:37.

Atsede Baysa of Ethiopia won the women's division at 2:29:18.

Representing New York, Harbert Okuti of New Paltz finished best, 15th with a time of 2:24:46.

Locally, representing New City, Fayne Frey finished 21,326 with a time of 4:25:53. Kimberly Chalfin of Nanuet finished 6508 in 3:25:55. Wojciech Cieszkowski of Pearl River finished 16534 in 3:59:04. James R. Dangler of Upper Nyack finished 1802 with a time of 3:02:44. Matthew J. Goldstein of Pomona finished 2922 with a time of 3:10:19. Tiffany Natale of West Nyack finished 21959 with a time of 4:30:57. Michael Nusblat of Stony Point finished 15934 with a time of 3:56:52. Vanessa M. Reiser of Congers was 22678 overall with a time of 4:38:15

Four folks from Orangeburg ran the race..

Raymond L. Alicea Jr. finished 20569 with a time of 4:20:39. Narcis Aron was 22132 overall with a time of 4:32:39. Bernard Patten finished 22958 with a time of 4:41:15 and Josephine Patten finished 22962 with a time of 4:41:17.
