Clarkstown Primary Guide: Who's On The Ballot, How To Vote
There are contests among 11 candidates for 4 offices in Clarkstown.

NEW CITY, NY — Conservative, Democratic, Republican and Working Families primaries will take place June 22 in Clarkstown as candidates for town supervisor, town council and town judge seek a chance to be on their party's ballot line in November.
Who's on the ballot:
Town supervisor race: Jeffrey M. Greenberg and Matthew I. Brennan are vying to be the Democratic candidate in November. Greenberg, who was endorsed by the town Democratic Committee, is also on the Working Families party line in the primary, and there he is campaigning against Barbara J. Francis. The winners of the two primaries will face incumbent George Hoehmann in the general election.

Clarkstown Town Council: There are Working Families Party primaries for wards 1 and 2. In Ward 1, Adam Stamm Kaufman and William J. Winchester are fighting to see who gets the line in November. In Ward 2, Daniel Caprara and Shari Lin Fischberg are vying for the ballot line.
Clarkstown Town Justice: Four people, including incumbent Justice Scott B. Ugell, are facing off in four primaries. Two seats will be filled in November. Conservatives will choose in their primary between Ugell, Aimee Pollak and Leslie Kahn. Democrats in their primary will choose between Kahn, Ugell, Pollak and Nabeela McLeod. In the Republican primary, Pollak, Ugell and Kahn are vying for that ballot line. In the Working Families primary, all four —McLeod, Ugell, Pollak and Kahn — are seeking the ballot line.

How To Vote In The 2021 Primary Election:
In-person voting:
Early voting will take place June 12 - 2o. The hours vary.
- Saturday, June 12 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.
- Sunday, June 13 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.
- Monday, June 14 from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.
- Tuesday, June 15 from 12 Noon until 8 p.m.
- Wednesday, June 16 from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.
- Thursday, June 17 from 12 Noon until 8 p.m.
- Friday, June 18 from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.
- Saturday, June 19 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.
- Sunday, June 20 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Rockland has four Early Voting Centers, and registered voters may use any one:
1. Clarkstown Town Hall, 10 Maple Avenue, New City, New York 10956
2. Haverstraw Town Hall, 1 Rosman Road, Garnerville, New York 10923
3. Orangetown Town Hall, 26 West Orangeburg Road, Orangeburg, New York 10962
4. Ramapo Town Hall, 237 Route 59, Suffern, New York 10901
Primary Day voting takes place from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. on June 22. Check the Rockland County Polling Place Lookup.
Absentee voting:
This year you may vote absentee if you will be:
- Absent from Rockland on Election Day.
- Unable to appear at the polls due to temporary or permanent illness or disability (temporary illness includes being unable to appear due to risk of contracting or spreading a communicable disease like COVID-19).
- Unable to appear because you are the primary caregiver of one or more individuals who are ill or physically disabled.
- A resident or patient of a Veterans Health Administration Hospital.
- Detained in jail awaiting Grand Jury action or confined in prison after conviction for an offense other than a felony.
To apply for an absentee ballot, either by requesting an application or letter of application by mail, or sending an email or fax for an absentee ballot, the deadline is June 15. The electronic absentee application signature requirements have been relaxed for the June 2021 Primary Election and November 2021 General Election only.
The last day to apply in person for an absentee ballot is June 21.
Absentee ballots must be postmarked or taken to the Rockland County Board of Elections (by someone other than the voter) by June 22. A mailed-in absentee ballot must be received by the local board of elections no later than June 29.
