Immediate Coronavirus Vaccine Appointments Available At RCC
Another eight people died in the past week of COVID-19 in Rockland County.
ROCKLAND COUNTY, NY — Immediate appointments for coronavirus vaccinations are available in Rockland County at the state-run clinic on the Rockland Community College campus.
In Rockland, 26 people have died of COVID-19 since March 31; eight in the past week brought the death toll to 948 as of Thursday.
Just 22 people are hospitalized with confirmed cases.

The Hudson region continues to have one of the highest positivity rates in New York. In the region, Rockland County has one of the lowest positivity rates, at 2.6 percent as of Thursday.

Rockland lags slightly behind the state in vaccinations, according to the state's vaccine tracker. In the county, 39.4 percent of the population has received at least one dose of coronavirus vaccine, compared to 43 percent statewide, as of Thursday.
Here's the percentage of residents with at least one dose in the Hudson region:
- Dutchess: 44.8 percent
- Orange: 35.8 percent
- Putnam: 46.4 percent
- Rockland: 39.4 percent
- Ulster: 49.7 percent
- Westchester: 48.9 percent
The vaccine is available to everyone age 16 and up.
The Week 18 allocation to Rockland County in addition to doses at the mass vaccination site at Rockland Community College was 2,400 doses.

Rockland County officials encourage eligible people to sign up for appointments wherever they are available.
- Rockland residents age 60+ can sign up for the Senior COVID-19 Vaccine Waitlist by calling the Rockland County Office for the Aging at 845-364-2110, Monday through Friday (except holidays), 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. Spanish and Creole speakers are available. In addition, residents can sign up online at http://rcklnd.us/c19-waitlist.
- Vaccinations performed by local hospitals, federally qualified health centers, pharmacies, physician networks, and practice groups must be made directly through those providers.
- The NYS Am I Eligible webpage will provide you with a list of state-run vaccination sites including the one at Rockland Community College. Immediate appointments are available. All individuals eligible under the NYS guidelines can schedule an appointment at any NYS-operated mass vaccination site. If you do not have access to a computer, eligible New Yorkers can call to schedule a vaccination appointment at a state-run site by calling the New York State COVID-19 Vaccination Hotline 1-833-697-4829.
