Drive-In Movies Coming To The Palisades Center

WEST NYACK, NY — A local production company is partnering with Palisades Center to bring a newfangled drive-in movie experience to Rockland County, so pile the family into the station wagon and prepare for a night of fun.

From Sept. 4 to Oct. 4, Mobile Movies will put on movie showings every Thursday-Sunday in Parking Lot F near The Cheesecake Factory. Here's the starting line-up.

"The drive-in theater is a way for us to provide Clarkstown and the surrounding communities with another safe and fun entertainment option to enjoy during this challenging time," said Darrin Houseman, the mall's general manager.

The company is an LLC registered in New Jersey.

"The team running the Palisades Center Drive-In is from Clarkstown, Pearl River, Ramsey, Wyckoff and Westwood," said Mobile Movies spokesman Matt Sabatini.

Clarkstown officials were happy to grant the permit. Earlier this summer, the town took actions that allowed for expanded permitting to boost the local economy.

"We are going to continue to work with our local businesses to find ways to keep them thriving," Supervisor George Hoehmann said. "We hope that the Drive-In Movies will attract people looking for a fun end to the summer season."

For $35, you can fill all the seatbelts in your car. One event ticket includes a socially distanced parking spot for your vehicle, two sealed packs of movie candies, and two free drinks.

Want a truly modern movie-going experience? Some of the mall's restaurants will offer food, Palisades Center officials said. Keep checking for details on which restaurants will be running "concessions" and what the menus will be.
