Former New City Resident, Kharvina M. Billie, 87, Passed Away
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 29 at Higgins Funeral Home, 321 South Main Street, New City, New York.

Kharvina M. Billie, 87, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 23rd at Nyack Hospital. Kharvina was born in Hoquiam, Washington and moved to New York City after marrying her husband Andrew in 1947.
A longtime resident of Pomona and formerly New City, Kharvina was an active member of Saint Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in New City for many years, serving the church in the annual Christmas Boutique fund raiser and in preparing Braille books for the sight impaired. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and the family’s many pets over the years. A longtime employee of Rockland National Bank, Empire Bank and Bank of New York, she made many friends in that capacity before retiring in 1991.

She is survived by her son Craig of Ballston Lake, New York, her daughter Jane Zippilli of West Nyack, New York and her grandsons Mark of Salt Lake City, Utah and Matthew of Brooklyn, New York. She was predeceased by her husband Andrew of 35 years.
Funeral services will be held at noon on Thursday, October 29th at Higgins Funeral Home, 321 South Main Street, New City, New York. Interment will follow at Highview Cemetery in Nanuet, New York. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, October 28th from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Rockland Regional Office of Alzheimer’s Association , 301 N. Main Street, Suite 7, New City, NY 10956-4021 in Kharvina’s memory.
