Free Memorial Service Honors Korean War Veterans
A service on RCC campus will honor the 27 residents of Rockland County who gave their lives while serving during the Korean War.

From RCC: A special memorial service on the Rockland Community College campus will honor the 27 residents of Rockland County who gave their lives while serving their country during the Korean War. The ceremony will take place July 23 adjacent to the Korean War monument, located within the Gary Onderdonk Veterans Memorial Cemetery at RCC.

All are welcome to attend the annual memorial service to honor our Korean War veterans and remember those who gave their lives. The ceremony will begin at 2 pm.

The Korean War monument was first erected by the Eagle Chapter of Korean War Veterans in 1993, after the group’s formation in 1992. It holds a plaque inscribed with the names of each of the fallen servicemen, and the inscription, “They gave their today for your tomorrow.”
