Friends Start Fundraiser In Memory Of Texas Shooting Victim
A second person has been arrested in connection with the mass shooting Saturday in Austin, Texas. He is 17, police said.

SUFFERN, NY — As the community mourns the death of former Airmont resident Douglas John Kantor, caught in gunfire in Austin, Texas, friends have started a GoFundMe drive.
Its purpose is to raise money for funeral arrangements and expenses, organizer Lindsay Gulla said on the page.
"As you may have heard, another tragedy has struck a Suffern Alumni," she wrote. "Doug was loved by so many people including his girlfriend of 10 years, Adrianna Esposito, who he planned on marrying and beginning a future with. Also mourning his death is his mother Julia, and father Joe Budnick as well as his older brother Nick."

More than a dozen people were injured in the mass shooting at 1:30 a.m. Saturday. More than a dozen people were injured. Kantor, 25, was waiting outside a bar to get in when shots were fired; he was struck in the abdomen. Doctors were unable to save him and he died Sunday at a local hospital.
Police arrested one teenager at the scene. A second, Jeremiah Roshaun Leland James Tabb, 17, was arrested Monday while in summer school in nearby Killeen. He faces aggravated assault charges as an adult under Texas law, according to Austin police. The first suspect is considered a juvenile and identity and court records are likely to remain confidential.

Kantor lived in Michigan, where he went to college, earned an MBA, and worked in IT for the Ford Motor Company.
"I was incredibly saddened to hear of the senseless shooting death of Rockland native Doug Kantor in Austin, Texas, this weekend. I offer my sincere condolences to his friends and family here in Rockland and elsewhere in our nation," said Rockland County Executive Ed Day. "There is no greater tragedy than seeing a young and promising life taken from us so abruptly. Doug’s death is a loss to our entire community, and I ask that we all keep him and his family in our thoughts and prayers."
So far the drive, started Monday, has raised $11,735 of its $100,000 goal.
