Hazardous Outlook For Hudson Valley: Snow Expected Monday
Remember when the groundhog saw his shadow? It'll be three weeks come Tuesday.
HUDSON VALLEY, NY — The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous outlook for Dutchess and Ulster counties for snow Monday.
Snow is expected across the lower Hudson Valley also — mixed with rain.
Accumulation could total an inch to 3 inches. Locally slippery travel are conditions possible. It's going to be wet snow this time, with temperatures in the low 30s.

"The snow only lasts for a few hours, but could come down heavily for a short period of time," said Alex Marra and Bill Potter of Hudson Valley Weather.

Here's an hour-by-hour look for the next 48 hours, based on Putnam County:

It could get a little warmer for most of the work week, but by Friday we'll be plunged back into the freezing zone, according to the daily forecast from the NWS:
- Sunday night- Mostly clear in the evening, then becoming mostly cloudy. Lows around 20. South winds around 5 mph.
- Monday- Cloudy. Snow in the afternoon. Total snow accumulation around an inch. Highs in the mid 30s. South winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of snow 80 percent.
- Monday Night- Mostly cloudy with a chance of rain and snow in the evening, then partly cloudy after midnight. Patchy fog in the evening. Lows around 30. West winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation 40 percent.
- Tuesday- Partly sunny. Highs in the lower 40s. West winds 5 to 10 mph.
- Tuesday Night- Partly cloudy in the evening, then clearing. Lows around 30.
- Wednesday- Mostly sunny. Highs in the mid 40s.
- Wednesday Night- Partly cloudy in the evening, then becoming mostly cloudy. Lows in the mid 30s.
- Thursday- Mostly sunny. Highs in the lower 40s.
- Thursday Night- Partly cloudy. Lows in the lower 20s.
- Friday- Mostly sunny. Highs in the lower 30s.
- Friday Night- Mostly clear. Lows 15 to 20.
