Here Are The 10 Top Beaches In NY

Why go on a vacation when you can plan a relaxing staycation? After all, most of the best beaches in New York are just a couple of hours away from the Hudson Valley.

USA Today released a list of the 10 Best New York Beaches, and four of them are famous: Jones Beach, Coney Island, Fire Island National Seashore and Million Dollar Beach at Lake George. Five other Long Island beaches made the list, and the 10th is at a park upstate.

2. Jones Beach State Park in Wantagh
3. Robert Moses State Park in Babylon
4. Tiana Beach in Hampton Bays
5. Coney Island Beach & Boardwalk in Brooklyn
6. Cupsogue Beach in Westhampton Beach
7. Million Dollar Beach (Lake George Beach) at Lake George
8. Coopers Beach in Southampton
9. Hither Hills State Park in Montauk
10. Green Lakes State Park in Fayetteville

To determine the rankings, Today's 10Best editors and local experts worked with a man called "Dr. Beach" to pick 20 nominees. The Top 10 were then picked by popular vote.
