Everywhere: After the storm, clear sidewalks and fire hydrants adjacent to your property and, when digging out cars, do not throw snow back into the street.

Transportation
Dutchess County Public Transit service will be suspended beginning at 7 p.m. Wednesday and will last until the storm has concluded on Thursday morning/afternoon. Additional service updates will be posted on the County's social media and online at Dutchessny.gov/publictransit, as well as on the DCPT app.
In Westchester County, Bee-Line buses and ParaTransit service will be suspended effective at 7 p.m. this evening. All scheduled trips prior to that will be operated. In Putnam County, the public transportation system which includes the Croton Falls Commuters and fixed route PART System as well as the Pre-K/EI Transportation to schools in Putnam and Westchester Counties will stop operations at 4 PM Wednesday, December 16, 2020. All transportation services will remain closed for the entire day Thursday, December 17, 2020. Transportation services will resume normal operations on Friday, December 18, 2020.
In Rockland County, TOR and TRIPS bus services will continue to operate regular weekday service as conditions allow during the storm. For the most current service information, customers should visit the Transit Alerts page at rocklandbus.com, where they can also sign up for text/email alerts.
Ulster County will suspend service due to expected weather conditions service beginning at 7 p.m. This suspension will last through Thursday morning and until the storm has concluded. Please check our Facebook Page for updates on service.
Schedule changes
Westchester
Greenburgh - Garbage pickup cancelled for Thursday - parking prohibited on town streets. A Snow Emergency has been declared for the next two days. All snow parking regulations are in effect and will be strictly enforced. Parking is restricted during overnight hours Wednesday through Friday. Limited parking will be available at the Webb Field parking lot on North Central Avenue. Vehicles found parked in violation of the Snow Emergency ordinance are subject to a fine of up to $500 and vehicles may be removed. Even residents who have been issued Hardship Overnight Parking Exemptions are also prohibited from parking their vehicle(s) on any town road during the declared Snow Emergency. Hardship Overnight Parking Exemption holders that fail to remove their vehicle(s) from the public roadway are subject to all fines and removals related to Snow Emergency ordinance violations, as well as revocation of said Exemption.
Mamaroneck - Garbage collection for Thursday is canceled. The Maxwell Avenue Recycling Center will be closed on Thursday. The Mamaroneck Town Center Offices will also be closed Thursday.
Mount Pleasant - Town Hall and Town Offices will close at 3:00pm today. For non-emergencies, please call the Police Department at 914-769-1941 and in the event of an emergency, call 911.
Mount Vernon - Alternate Side Parking is suspended for Thursday, December 17th.
New Rochelle - Garbage collection is cancelled for both Thursday in the north end and Friday in the south end. Park cars off-street to make room for plows. Parking will be free at New Roc City and at the New Rochelle Transit Center, Wednesday through Sunday night. Report downed trees and power lines to the New Rochelle Police at 654-2300. Ossining - Village officials declared a Snow Emergency, effective 8 a.m. Wednesday until further notice. During a Snow Emergency stopping/standing/parking is prohibited on designated Snow Emergency Streets. The Recreation Department is prepared to have the emergency shelter at the Community Center staffed and operational, should the need arise, to be decided Wednesday evening.
Pleasantville - Stay off the roadways and avoid on-street parking so the Village’s Department of Public Works can conduct plowing operations. Please do not shovel snow into the middle of the street. Please make sure all outdoor decorations are secured.
City of Poughkeepsie - City Of Poughkeepsie Declares Snow Emergency
Sleepy Hollow, Tarrytown -Tarrytown, Sleepy Hollow Declare Snow Emergencies
Yorktown - A snow emergency has been declared beginning at 6 PM. We are asking all residents to be off the roads, including parked cars, to allow our crews to safely do their jobs.
Rockland
Clarkstown - Garbage and recycling collection is cancelled for Thursday, 12/17. Tomorrow's recycling pickup is re-scheduled for Saturday, 12/19. Garbage not collected tomorrow will be taken on the next regularly scheduled pickup day, which is Monday 12/21. As this is bulk week, bulk pickup for tomorrow is also cancelled.
South Nyack - Recyclables will be collected on Friday. Bins should be placed curbside on Thursday evening. The Dissolution Referendum takes place from noon to 9 p.m. Thursday at Living Christ Church, 151 S. Broadway.
Putnam
Putnam County - County government offices with the exception of essential services, close at 3 pm on Wednesday. Non-essential government offices will reopen at 12 Noon on Thursday 12/17/20. Blizzard boxes, an emergency meal, have been delivered to seniors. Remember to check on family, friends and vulnerable neighbors and If you MUST travel Thursday morning give yourself enough time and drive carefully. If you use a generator, remember never operate it in an enclosed space, even with a window or door open. This includes inside your home, basement or garage. Doing so can lead to a potentially lethal build-up of colorless, odorless, poisonous carbon monoxide gas. Please call 9-1-1 ONLY if you need immediate police, fire or EMS response.
Brewster - Snow Emergency begins at 4 PM on Wednesday and ends at 7 AM on Friday. There will be no parking on Village Streets between the times listed above to ensure our Department of Public Works is able to clear the roads.
Ulster
School closings
All Catholic Elementary Schools in the Archdiocese of New York, will be closed Thursday. Archdiocese High Schools operate independently, so high school families need to follow instructions from their individual schools.
Lakeland - Due to the forecast for heavy snow, the Lakeland Central School District will be closed tomorrow, Thursday, December 17.
Ossining - Schools will be closed tomorrow, Dec. 17.
Pelham - Pelham School Board To Meet Virtually Wednesday Due To Snowstorm
Pocantico Hills - closed Thursday, Dec. 17, 2020. No transportation.
Rye - All schools will be closed for in-person and online learning tomorrow, Thursday, Dec. 17.
Scarsdale - All afternoon programs and activities are canceled Wednesday. Due to the magnitude of the storm predicted and the possibility of power outages and widespread closures we will not be providing remote instruction Thursday. At this time, we plan to reopen buildings on Friday.
White Plains - All schools will be closed Thursday, Dec. 17.
