Hudson Valley's 4th Of July Fireworks 2019 Guide

Look at this list and start making plans for more than a week's worth of fireworks!

HUDSON VALLEY, NY – July 4th is quickly approaching, which means it's time to fire up that barbecue and find out what Fourth of July fireworks and festivities are going on near you this 243rd birthday of the United States.

We gathered up all the fireworks shows, parades and festivals happening in and around the Hudson Valley over more than a week, so you can start planning now. If you know of one we missed, please add it in the comments and email lanning.taliaferro@patch.com (we thank two alert readers who let us know about Pearl River and Somers).

To give yourself and the family a sense of what it's all about, head up to the Independence Day Commemoration at Stony Point Battlefield State Historic Site. June 29-30 and July 4. You'll learn a lot at the Illustrated Lecture on the Development of the Declaration, which starts at 1 p.m. If you don't have a lot of time, don't miss hearing the Declaration of Independence read out loud at 2:45 p.m. That's followed by the annual firing of cannon at 3 p.m. All programs are free.

Westchester

June 28-July 6

  • Village of Mamaroneck Fire Department Carnival: 6:45 p.m. to 11 p.m. every day. Annual parade will be held Tuesday, July 2 at 7 p.m. (no rain date). Harbor Island Park — Boston Post Rd. & Mamaroneck Ave.

  • Lewisboro: 20th Annual Firework Spectacular, 6 p.m. parking and picnicking, 7 p.m. entertainment starts, 9:30 p.m. fireworks, June 29 at Onatru Farm Park, 99 Elmwood Rd., South Salem. Rain date TBD.
  • Somers: Somers Independence Day Block Party, Sebastian Capital Urban Campus, Routes 35 & 100. 2 p.m. Music, dance, food trucks, face painting, fireworks. For tickets and info go to somersblockparty.com.

July 2

  • Scarsdale: 2019 Firework Spectacular, approximately 9:15 p.m. Tuesday, July 2 at the Scarsdale Pool Complex. Westchester Band will perform at 7:30 p.m. A $5 fee will be charged to all non-pool members entering the pool beginning at 5 p.m. At 8 p.m. all individuals entering the pool complex will be charged $5.
  • White Plains: On Tuesday, July 2, 6-10 p.m. A fun filled evening of entertainment, giant inflatable rides, food and fireworks! The City of White Plains Independence Day Celebration at the White Plains High School Athletic Fields located at 550 North St. in White Plains. All are welcome at this family-friendly event

July 3

  • Valhalla: Kensico Dam Music Fest and Fireworks. Enjoy a picnic at the park with pre-concert entertainment beginning at 6 pm. A band performance starts at 8 p.m. followed by fireworks around 9:15 p.m. Admission and parking are free; carpooling is suggested.
  • Ossining: Fireworks at Louis Engel Waterfront Park. The music starts at 7 p.m. and fireworks are scheduled to start around 9:15 p.m. (Rain date July 8.)
  • Harrison: The dance/show band Rock Steady starts at 7:45 p.m. and fireworks go off around 9:15 p.m. Rain date July 4. Harrison Shopping Center, Halstead Avenue.
  • Cross County Shopping Center: The fun starts at 6:30 p.m. with strolling entertainers and more. The concert takes place on The Green lawn, in the center of the mall from 6:30-9 p.m. The fireworks will be displayed in the north parking lot, the side of the mall that faces the Cross County Parkway, behind Shake Shack. If there is severe weather, the event will be re-scheduled for July 5th.

July 4-5

  • Rye Playland Special Event Fireworks Celebration at 9:30 p.m., 1 Playland Parkway, Rye

July 4

  • Katonah: Pops, Patriots and Fireworks at Caramoor. 8 p.m. Thursday, July 4. Fireworks only rain date 9 p.m. Sunday, July 7. For more information, including ticket prices, go here.
  • Mamaroneck: Village of Mamaroneck Fireworks Display, Thursday, July 4 at 9 p.m. at Harbor Island Park, Boston Post Rd. & Mamaroneck Ave.
  • New Rochelle: Cap off your holiday evening with a viewing of the grand fireworks display at the New Rochelle waterfront. Produced and sponsored by the famous Grucci family, the City of New Rochelle’s annual “Spark the Sound” extravaganza starts at 9:30 pm, rain or shine. Optimum viewing locations are Hudson Park, Five Islands Park and waterfront restaurants.
  • Peekskill: Concert and Fireworks, Riverfront Green Park. Billy and the Showman starts at 7 p.m. and fireworks will start at about 9:15 p.m.
  • Tarrytown: Annual fireworks display will begin around 9 p.m. Pierson Park is a popular viewing area where live music will begin at 7 p.m.
  • Yonkers: The fun will take place at the Yonkers Historic Pier at 71 Water Grant Street. Entertainment by a DJ begins at 7 p.m., followed by a fireworks display along the Hudson at 9:15 p.m. presented by Pyro Engineering/Volt Live. The festivities are sponsored by the Yonkers Industrial Development Agency, the Yonkers Downtown Business Improvement District and MGM Resorts. Downtown restaurants including X20 Xaviars on the Hudson, Dolphin, Francey Brady’s, Zuppa Restaurant, Guapo Cocina Mexicana, Le Moulin Eatery and Wine Bar, La Bella Havana and Yonkers Brewing Company will offer a variety of foods.

Putnam

June 29

  • Kent: fireworks display over Lake Carmel, starting after 9 p.m.

June 30

  • Southeast: The annual fireworks extravaganza. Music by DJ Scottso starts at 7 p.m. and the fireworks at 9:30 p.m. Independent Way.

Rockland

June 29-30

  • Independence Day Commemoration. Saturday, June 29 until Sunday, June 30 at Stony Point Battlefield State Historic Site. Celebrate the 243rd birthday of the United States. Illustrated Lecture- Development of the Declaration - 1:00 PM. Reading of the Declaration of Independence - 2:45 PM. Firing of Cannon - 3:00 PM. All Programs are FREE!

June 30

  • Ramapo: Join us for our Annual Celebration of Liberty & Pride! Enjoy a Boulders Game at 6pm followed by the Honor Guard then FIREWORKS accompanied by patriotic music! Palisades Credit Union Park, off Exit 12 on the Palisades Interstate Parkway

July 2

  • Clarkstown: Come celebrate Independence Day at Nanuet High School, Festivities start at 5pm and the Concert at 8pm. (Rain date July 3, 2019). Festivities start at 5pm and the Concert at 8pm.


July 3

  • Rockland Boulders. Fireworks right after the game. Palisades Credit Union Park, off Exit 12 on the Palisades Interstate Parkway.

July 4

  • Pearl River. Fireworks at Central Avenue Field around 9:30 p.m.

  • Nyack’s annual Fourth of July Fireworks Celebration will be held July 5 in Memorial Park at 9 p.m.
  • Haverstraw's Fireworks Celebration: Bowline Point Park, Bowline Rd, Haverstraw, Friday, July 5 at 7 pm. Live music by Dr. K’s Motown Revue will kick off the celebration; fireworks at 9:30 pm. Rain date: July 6. The park will open to the public at 5 pm.

Mid Hudson Valley

July 4

  • City of Poughkeepsie fireworks on the Walkway Over the Hudson State Park. Begins between 9 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. The Walkway will be open to ticket holders. Tickets available online and at Adam’s in Poughkeepsie and Wappingers Falls. $10 for Walkway members, veterans and seniors; $12.50 for general admission. Children 10 and under free. Rain date July 5.
  • Kingston, T.R. Gallo Waterfront Park, 73 W. Strand St., 4 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The Kingston fireworks will include food, music and activities, with fireworks at 9:30PM.

July 6

  • West Point: Independence Day Celebration, at West Point’s Trophy Point Amphitheater, 7:30 p.m. Saturday, July 6 (rain date of July 7). Grab a blanket, bring a picnic, and enjoy a wide variety of music ranging from traditional field music to today’s popular hits, and everything in between. Guests are advised to arrive early, as this impressive celebration of music and fireworks is one of the best attended events of the year.

New York City
