Cross-country phenom Katelyn Tuohy of Rockland put in a record-breaking performance at the Ocean State Invitational in Rhode Island.

THIELLS, NY — Cross-country phenom Katelyn Tuohy of North Rockland High School put in a record-breaking performance at the Ocean State Invitational in Rhode Island. It's a new season and a new record — last year she broke quite a few.

MileSplit reported Tuohy, a junior, pulled an astounding feat on the track in the first mile and just kept going. She crossed the line at 16:06.9, the fastest full 5K ever run by a High Schooler.

"The performance is nothing short of incredible. The highest rated performance by Speed Rating was Amber Trotter's Foot Locker win in 2001 at an even 180. Tuohy was rated today at a 175.71. It's the third fastest Speed Rating ever recorded," according to MileSplit.
