Kristin Altieri Lost 60 Pounds At Peak Physique

Kristin Altieri talks about her weight loss journey.

Nanuet, N.Y. (April 8, 2019) – Kristin Altieri started at Peak Physique in February 2018 and did a 28 Day challenge with her aunt. "Prior to joining Peak Physique in January 2018, I felt like I was at a real low.... I weighed close to 225 pounds. I was not happy with myself. I disliked getting dressed, disliked shopping, and just did not feel myself. I decided to take my aunt up on her offer and joined the challenge of which in 28 days I lost close to 15 pounds. I started to see my body change, and I became hooked!" said Kristin Altieri.

1) Why did you choose Peak Physique Personal Training, Bootcamp and Boxing?

My aunt told me about this challenge and asked me to do it with her. I gave it a shot and fell in love with the place.

2) How many pounds did you lose so far? How long did it take?

I lost roughly 60 pounds, and it took about 10 months.

3) How did Peak Physique help you meet your weight loss goal?

I love the atmosphere at Peak as soon as you walk into a class. The trainers are amazing and push me each and every second. I give 100% to each work out. Once I leave Peak, I feel amazing and I want to keep feeling amazing.

4) How often did you work out at Peak Physique?

I work out 6 days a week at Peak. I typically try and take Sundays as a rest day.

5) What is your favorite form of exercise to do and why?

I love the strength classes. Before Peak, I was always in the gym doing cardio (Treadmill, StairMaster) and not touching enough weights. Now, I live for weight training and I try to lift as heavy as possible.

6) Have you had to deal with any injuries along the way?

Back in High School I had my meniscus repaired, and since then my left knee has never been the same… the surgery coupled with arthritis and bone degeneration have made some things a bit challenging. So with that, I have good days and bad days. On the bad days, I modify what I need to push through the workout.

7) What did you change in your diet?

I stopped doing the crazy fad diets, and try to eat high protein, and low carb. I try and incorporate high protein snacks every couple of hours to help me feel full and satisfied.

8) How did you manage to integrate this healthy lifestyle into your life?

I just try to be as balanced as possible. I enjoy going out to dinner as well as going out with friends. I try to give myself one night a week to enjoy with moderation. This helps balance things out.

9) What is the biggest struggle: food, exercise, temptation?

I’m Italian… Food is what my family is all about... Sunday Dinners, big Holidays, ect. In general, food has always been a struggle. I just try and modify certain foods, or if we’re having a Sunday dinner, I’ll skip the pasta and eat a lean protein.

10) What motivates you to continue with this lifestyle?

I don’t want to ever feel like I did before starting at Peak Physique. I’ll do whatever it takes to keep this up. I want to live a long healthy life, and this lifestyle is a huge part of how I’ll get there. To add, I’ve met some amazing people along the way that have inspired me to keep pushing.

11) What are your goals for the future?

I am going on vacation in August. I’d like to turn things up a notch and lose another 15 pounds and really try to tone up.

12) What is your best piece of advice for those just starting their weight loss journey?

I’m sure that I can speak for a lot of people and say we’ve all been in a dark place. My advice is to just start!! Each day you’ll feel better and better. I remember getting on the scale last year and just saying “I’ll never get to where I want to be.” Here I am.

"I would like to thank Kristin Altieri for sharing her weight loss journey. I am currently on my weight loss journey, and have lost 21 lbs in 11 weeks at Peak Physique. I am so excited to finally meet my weight loss goals with the help of Steve and Eva Eckert, and the awesome coaches here. Kristin Altieri is a true success story and should be applauded for her transformation. She did it the old fashion way with hard work and good nutrition. I am inspired by these stories, and look forward to writing more about people's weight loss successes at Peak Physique" Jacqueline Cassagnol, MSN, RN, PhD(c), Founder & President of Worldwide Community First Responder, Inc.
