Marijuana Arrest On The New York State Thruway In Rockland
A 35-year-old driver was in possession of more than a pound of marijuana, police said.
RAMAPO, NY — New York State troopers charged a New York City man with criminal possession of marijuana Wednesday after stopping him on the New York State Thruway for a vehicle and traffic violation.
The arrest happened at 1:35 a.m., after they interviewed the driver and decided they had probable cause to search the vehicle. They found Ryan C. Barry, 35, in possession of 17.8 ounces of marijuana, police said.
Barry was taken into custody and transported to State Police offices in Newburgh where he was charged with Criminal Possession of Marijuana 2th degree; a Class D Felony. He was released with an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Ramapo Court Feb. 25.
