Mom Whose 1-Year-Old Died Faces More Charges

Indicted by a Rockland County grand jury, she is in the county jail, according to news reports.

SPRING VALLEY, NY — The mother of a 1-year-old who died June 19 while she was not home has been indicted by a Rockland County grand jury.

Marie Dorleus, 36, left her three children, the oldest of whom was 6, at home alone for several hours that evening.

She was charged with manslaughter and taken to the Rockland County Jail on bail of $50,000 cash or $100,000 bond.

The Journal News reported that in the indictment she was also charged with criminally negligent homicide and three counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
