New City Chiropractic Center Celebrates 30th Anniversary

"Dr. Mike" Cocilovo, founder of New City Chiropractic Center, celebrate his office's 30th Anniversary at a recent celebration.

Dr. Michael Cocilovo, founder of New City Chiropractic Center, joined with nearly 100 of his patients and friends at a celebration of his office's 30 years in practice in Rockland County on October 7th. Dr. Cocilovo thanked all his patients and guests for attending and praised his associate and staff for all their hard work and dedication in making their office such a success over the past three decades.

In addition to serving thousands of patients, New City Chiropractic Center has been a leader in the community in many charitable ways. They have dedicated their time and energy to numerous organizations which were highlighted during the evening. They have worked with the Rockland Road Runners for their Turkey Trot Race and then each year head up to Haverstraw to help serve Thanksgiving Dinner to those less fortunate. Dr. Mike, as he is widely known, also sits on the Board of Home Aides of Rockland and helps organize the organization’s many fundraisers throughout the year. He has been a member of the Blauvelt Sons of Italy for nearly a decade and sits on the organization’s Council helping to coordinate the Annual Italian Feast, now the biggest event in Rockland County. A few years ago, New City Chiropractic Center participated in two local Spartan Races with several patients raising over $9,000 for the MS Society and over $3,000 for Wounded Warriors. This year the office coordinated a Keep Rockland Beautiful team with patients to do a cleanup in Nanuet so that together they could enjoy the spring day and give back to the community. This Christmas will mark the 30th year that New City Chiropractic Center will donate toys for Toys for Tots. They estimate they have collected over 4000 toys for needy children in Rockland and beyond.

The special anniversary event was also attended by Clarkstown Supervisor George Hoehmann and Rockland County Executive Ed Day who presented Dr. Mike with Certificates of Achievement commemorating the milestone. Supervisor Hoehmann noted that “Dr. Mike exemplifies family, faith and community and is someone who understands the importance of giving back.” County Executive Day said, “I salute Dr. Mike for being someone who is committed to doing the right thing for everybody,” and thanked him on behalf of everyone in Rockland County for his years of service and his dedication to the community. In addition, Dr. Mike also accepted framed copies of letters of recognition from New York State Senator David Carlucci, his Alma Mater Seton Hall University, New York Chiropractic College and the New York State Chiropractic Association on behalf of the office.
