Nick Sainz Lost 85 Pounds At Peak Physique

Nick Sainz talks about his weight loss journey.

Nanuet, N.Y. (April 1st, 2019) – Nick Sainz has a beautiful wife (Jaime) and three boys (Patterson 7, Peyton 5, and Dallas 3 ). "I'm 41 years old and in the best shape I can remember being in. I started at Peak on January 15th 2018. I was sitting on my couch and saw an ad on Facebook explaining that in two days, Peak was having an orientation for a six week challenge. I decided the day of the orientation to at least go and check it out. Steve spoke and suddenly a spark went off inside me" said Nick Sainz.

To say that Nick Sainz is a competitive person would be an understatement. "I was a 3 sport varsity athlete in high school (football, lacrosse and winter track), but the height of my competitive nature was throughout my 9 years as a coach. These positions included head varsity lacrosse coach at Clarkstown South, Assistant Varsity Football Coach at Clarkstown South and Clarkstown North, and Head Coach of Middle School Girl’s Basketball /Assistant Girl’s Varsity at Clarkstown South" said Nick Sainz .

Steve’s words sparked that competitive fire inside him again. "I was determined to win the challenge, but I set my goal higher than just that. At the orientation, Steve went around the room and asked everyone what their six week weight loss goal was. He told us that the record was 31 lbs. in 6 weeks. When he got to me, my response was, “32”. And that’s exactly what I did. I broke the 6 week challenge record, even with being away on vacation during week 5. Steve is the ultimate motivator. I decided to join after that challenge and it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. It has been a great outlet to relieve stress and help to manage my anxiety and depression issues as well. It helped in all aspects of my life. All because I decided to get off the couch that one day" said Nick Sainz .

1) Why did you choose Peak Physique Personal Training, Boot camp and Boxing?

I chose Peak because I saw an ad on Facebook. It looked interesting and different than any other gyms I’ve been to.

2) How many Pounds did you lose so far? How long did it take?

I have lost close to 100 lbs. since I started trying to loose weight. 85 of those lbs. were lost at Peak within my first 7 months of attending.

3) How did Peak Physique help you meet your weight Loss goals?

Peak helps lay out everything you need to know and how to do it. Most importantly, their coaches are second to none and their motivational skills are incredible.

4) How often did you work out at Peak Physique?

I attend Peak 5-6 times a week.

5 ) What is your Favorite form of exercise to do and why?

My favorite form of exercises are the boxing classes because they help me relieve my stress and anxiety the most.

6) Have you had to deal with Injuries along the way?

I am currently recovering from shoulder surgery due to a torn labrum and rotator cuff. This is not an injury from Peak.

7) What did you change in your diet?

I changed my diet dramatically. I eat every 2-3 hours and mostly eat clean while including a lot of protein in each meal.

8) How did you manage to integrate this healthy life style into your life?

Integrating this healthy lifestyle came easier than I expected. When you begin to see results as quickly as I did, it makes it easier to stay motivated to achieve your goals.

9) What is the Biggest Struggle: Food, Exercise or Temptation?

The biggest struggle is food temptation around the holidays, birthdays, etc. The biggest struggle was being injured and not being able to come to class for three months.

10) What motivates you to continue with this life style?

My motivations to continue this lifestyle are my family, the coaches and my friends from the gym. I’m also motivated to keep up with my 3 sons and wanting to continue to look and feel good.

11) What are your goals for the future?

My goals for the future are to stay at it, lose the weight I put on during my surgery, plus a little bit more. I would eventually like to compete in a Spartan Sprint one day.

12) What is your best piece of advice for those just starting their weight loss journey?

The best piece of advice that I could give to those just starting their weight loss journey would be to show up, forget everything you thought you knew about dieting / working out and follow the Peak food plan. It works, there’s more than enough proof by looking at the pictures on the wall! I would suggest to find an inspiration or a motivation to help you attain your goals. When I started, I would refer to a particular lyric by one of my favorite songwriters, “It ain’t too late to take a deep breath and throw yourself into everything you got.
