Part of Route 306 To Be Renewed With $2 Million In State Funding

NEW CITY, NY — Part of Route 306 will be renewed as part of a $151 million New York State project for roadways affected by extreme weather events, Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced Thursday. The stretch of Route 306 between Route 59 and Viola Road has $2 million earmarked for roadwork.

In all, the state will support 95 paving projects and the renewal of roughly 1,013 lane miles of pavement across the state, including at least one project in every county and New York City. This new funding, provided through the PAVE NY Initiative, complements $743 million in direct State aid provided for local road and bridge projects that renewed approximately 3,700 lane miles of road across New York State. The projects will begin in spring and be completed during the winter 2020.

About $22.7 million is designated for the Hudson Valley to renew 113.5 lane miles of roads in Westchester, Rockland, Putnam, Orange, Dutchess, Ulster and Sullivan counties.

In Rockland County:

• $1.6 million to renew Route 202 from Meade Drive to Route 9W in Haverstraw
• $2 million to renew Route 306 from Route 59 to Viola Road in Ramapo
