Rockland Legislature Moving Forward with Sain Sale

Bidding for office building will be opened.

The Rockland County Legislature has voted 16 to 0 to approve soliciting bids for the Sain Building, according to the Clarkstown Daily Voice.

Previous failure to move forward with the sale has led to austerity measures in the county that includes a hiring freeze, County Executive Ed Day told the Daily Voice.

The office building is in poor repair and was the subject of a $4.5 million bid from a developer who wanted to tear it down and put up senior housing, according to a story in the Journal News. That bid was rejected. The vote took place last week.
