Services Set For Trooper Nicholas Clark
Clark was shot and killed Monday by a suicidal school principal who had barricaded himself in his home.

ALFRED, NY — Services for Trooper Nicholas F. Clark, who was killed Monday by a suicidal gunman, have been set for Saturday and Sunday.
- Calling Hours: for law enforcement and the public, 1-6 p.m. July 7, Alfred University, James A. McLane Physical Education Center, 99 North Main St., Alfred, NY
- Funeral Service: 11 a.m. July 8, Alfred University.
- Parking for calling hours and funeral: Alfred State College, 10 Upper College Drive, Alfred, NY 14802. Attendees will be bused from Alfred State College to Alfred University.
Flags on all state government buildings will be flown at half-staff until Clark's interment.
Clark was shot dead by school principal Steven Kiley in the town of Erwin, right outside Corning, on July 2.

Clark, the Stueben County Sheriff’s Office and the Corning Police Department responded at 3:30 a.m. to a call about a suicidal man barricaded at a residence at 10041 Welch Road. Responding officers had put up a cordon around the house. When Clark was hit by gunfire, a deputy sheriff put his own life in danger to pull him to safety.
Clark was from Troupsburg, NY. A graduate of Alfred University, he was an outstanding athlete, winning state wrestling championships in high school, playing college football and trying out for the Buffalo Bills.

He graduated from the 203rd session of the Basic School on Sept. 3, 2015, and was originally assigned to Ithaca and Auburn before receiving his last assignment at Bath. He is survived by his mother, father and brother.
