Apartment Building Sale Most Expensive In County For 2018

The complex was formerly known as Avalon II, Avalon-on-the-Sound East and Halstead New Rochelle.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The high-rise apartment building — formerly known as Avalon II, Avalon-on-the-Sound East or Halstead New Rochelle — was sold for $259 million to a Virginia-based real estate and management firm. Harbor Group International announced the acquisition of the 39-story rental building on Memorial Highway.

The new name of the complex is Skyline New Rochelle, and it's the most expensive real estate transaction this year in Westchester County, the Journal News said.

This was the second time the building was sold since 2013.

New Rochelle gave the complex a 30-year tax break in 2004 and it will continue for the new owner.

The city will get $1.2 million from the sale due to fees.
