New Rochelle Apartment Building Being Sold Again

This will be the second time the building has changed hands since 2013.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — One of New Rochelle's downtown high-rise apartment buildings is being sold for the second time since 2013. The Halstead, a 39-story building, is being bought by HGI Acquisitions LLC in Virginia.

The company won't comment on the sale until it's finalized, but it's expected to close in December, the Journal News said.

Formerly known as Avalon II, the building, located at 40 Memorial Highway, was given a 30-year tax break in 2004, which will continue for the new owner.
