NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The city's drive to add transit-oriented housing and revitalize its downtown has attracted the attention of Bloomberg Businessweek. An article Tuesday details New Rochelle's and Yonkers' attempts to lure young professionals out of New York City with more spacious luxury apartments, lower rents, walkable neighborhoods and easy access to Manhattan.

Development Commissioner Luis Aragon and Mayor Noam Bramson are interviewed by authors Prashant Gopal and Vildana Hajric about the city'slong-range plan.

The article points out that ax-throwing bars are set to open in both Yonkers and New Rochelle, a sure sign that business people see edgy and trendy as workable in Westchester's largest cities.
