Westchester Magazine Names New Rochelle a Good Place to Buy a 'Starter Home'
The community's ethnic and religious diversity, and it's closeness to New York City, are among the reasons New Rochelle made the list.

Westchester Magazine has listed New Rochelle as one of three towns in the county that is a good place to buy a starter home.
The community’s ethnic and religious diversity, and it’s relative closeness to New York City, are among the reasons New Rochelle made the list. The other two communities mentioned are Croton-on-Hudson and Pleasantville.
Median home-sale prices were about $580,000 in 2013, and there are also plenty of condominiums and co-ops throughout the city, according to the magazine.
