2 Found 'Passed Out' In Vehicle Had Methamphetamine: Police

GREENPORT, NY— Two people reported for being "passed out" in a car in Greenport were found with methamphetamine, police said.

According to Southold Town Police, the incident took place Thursday morning at 10:08 a.m. on Ninth Street at Driftwood Apartments; officers responded to a call for a well-being check on two individuals reportedly seen in a vehicle, police said.

Travis Maker, 38, of Southold and Katheryn Franzoni, 38, of Shelter Island were found asleep inside a 2000 Nissan sedan; an investigation revealed that both Maker and Franzoni were in possession of methamphetamine and they were placed under arrest, police said.

Both were arrested and charged with seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and Maker was also found to be in violation of an order of protection and was held for arraignment, police said. Franzoni was processed at Southold Town police headquarters and released on an appearance ticket, police said.
