Combining efforts with Thomas Monsell, {former Southold Town Historian}Antonia Booth had the Images of America – Greenport volume printed by Arcadia Publishers. I came across a photo and caption of the George F. Carman, a coastal freighter owned by . James Monroe Monsell.
When it came time to check Images of America - Greenport, there are write-ups and photos relating to the Hedges surname. Also on page 102, there is an etching and write-up on Tifereth Israel Synagogue in case you're interested. The are listings relating to the Hedges surname in the Images of America - Greenport book found on page 111. "...Congregation Tifereth Israel. The site is now dedicated to the memory of Andrew Levin, who, with his sister Rachel, operated the Soundview Restaurant and Inn.”
