Carter Rubin's Cheering Hometown Fans Spotlighted On 'The Voice'
As Carter, 14, sailed on to the finals on "The Voice" this week, his Long Island fans were seen in a video, cheering him on. Watch here.

SHOREHAM, NY — As Carter Rubin, 14, of Shoreham continued to wow the coaches and his fans nationwide, soaring on to the finals of "The Voice" this week, cheering family and friends from his hometown were also spotlighted in a video that was shown during the show.
"Hi, Carter! Sending you love from your hometown. The Wildcats Helping the Arts & Music and all your friends in Shoreham-Wading River — we are so incredibly proud of you. Keeping singing with your heart and we know you're going to go far," his exuberant supporters said in the video.
Reflecting on how it felt to be spotlighted on national television, Colette Grosso, who organized a "Team Carter" fundraiser to benefit the SWR WHAM group, which supports students in the arts, said it was a moment no one who participated will ever forget.

"We were honored that 'The Voice' reached out to the Wildcats Helping the Arts & Music to submit a video for fan week," she said. "They asked for 20-second video with a short speech, but all that appeared was a quick cut of us saying, 'We love you, Carter,' and cheering. It was maybe five seconds. Best five seconds ever!"
She added: "We were humbled by the opportunity to be a small part of Carter’s experience on 'The Voice', and so grateful to show our support and admiration wearing the Team Carter shirts."

The entire community is watching eagerly as Carter continues to touch hearts with his voice.
"The entire community has Carter Rubin fever," Grosso added.
Brekky, a cafe in Wading River, created a "Rainbow Connection Latte" in honor of the teen; Carter's rendition of the song from "The Muppet Movie" moved his coach Gwen Stefani to tears this week.

His hometown fans aren't the only ones rooting for the Shoreham teen: America has shown the love to Carter Rubin, 14, casting the votes necessary to send him soaring on to the finals on "The Voice."
Carter dedicated his flawless performance of the "Rainbow Connection" to his brother, Jack, 19, who was diagnosed with autism at two; they love singing and playing music together. They perform together at their family's autism foundation, Families in Arms, which helps bring kids with autism — whose families may not otherwise be able to afford the trip — to Disney World in Florida. Jack, Carter said, plays drums and loves Disney songs.
On Tuesday, Carter said he sees the world through his brother's eyes. "He does see world a little differently. And that's not a bad thing. It can be beautiful."
Carter was one of the Top 9 competing in Monday night's semi-finals for a chance to make the finale.

During the semi-finals show, all of the Top 9 artists performed, with fans able to vote up to 10 times each on either "The Voice" app, NBC.com/Voicevote, Google assistant, or Xfinity voice remote.
On Tuesday night's results show, the Top 4 moved on to the final round; the other five were given the chance to sing for one instant save to join the others for a Top 5 finale.
"Thank you all so much for voting! Thank you for posting, and sharing, and texting, calling. Thank you for watching and supporting. . . and thank you for the love," Carter's mother Alonna Rubin wrote on Facebook Tuesday.
Carter saw his first success on the show during the blind audition in the second week of Season 19 of "The Voice," which airs on Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on NBC.
The show is hosted by Carson Daly, with coaches including Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani, John Legend and Kelly Clarkson. After his blind audition, Carter chose Stefani's team.
Carter said he was grateful for the support shown by friends at home. "They are super excited," he said.
