'The Drowsy Chaperone' Unfolds Friday Night At Mattituck High School
Don't miss this hilarious production by some talented young stars at Mattituck High School.

MATTITUCK, NY — Despite a snow day for students, the show will go on Friday night at Mattituck High School as the Mattituck Musical Theater Company presents "The Drowsy Chaperone."
Co-directed by Anne Gilvarry and Jacob Fowle, "The Drowsy Chaperone," with music and lyrics by Lisa Lambert and Greg Morrison and book by Bob Martin and Don McKellar, "is billed as 'a musical within a comedy' and it celebrates the fun and silliness of musical theater in way that is both hilarious and heartwarming," Gilvarry said. "This show offers the audience 90 minutes of joy and the chance to escape into a world of laughter and happy endings."
The show is also a testament to the hard work of the young thespians.

"For the past three months, these students have worked as a team to bring this show to life. We have close to 40 students involved as cast members, stage crew, sound/lighting crew, and playing in the pit orchestra. There are so many elements that need to come together for a show like this, and I am so pleased with the way this team works together to make the show come to fruition," Gilvarry said.
The show is only the seventh as a musical theater company, Gilvarry said. "Every year we aim to further develop our program while bringing entertainment and the joy of theater to our school and larger community. This shows does that . . . and it's hilarious. What's not to love?"
