Drunken Driver Hits 2 Parked Cars, Tries To Flee Scene: Police

GREENPORT, NY — A Greenport man was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after he hit two parked cars and tried to flee the scene, police said.

According to Southold Town Police, the crash took place Monday at 3:35 p.m on 5th St. in Greenport. Jose Rivera-Guillen, 24, was arrested and charged with DWI, first offense; leaving the scene of a crash; and driving with no license, police said.

He tried to leave on foot but was found by officers; a witness identified Rivera-Guillen as the driver, police said. Upon investigation, it was determined that he was intoxicated, police said. He was placed under arrest, transported to police headquarters, processed, and held for arraignment, police said.
