According to Anne Gilvarry, one of the directors of Mattituck High School’s musical, ”This is such an iconic show, and it is currently running on Broadway. That has happened before and it’s helped to create a passionate buzz among our cast and school community. We have worked hard this year to work on authenticity of our set, costumes, props, and acting.’

Since students fought passionately to bring musicals back to the Mattituck High School stage, forming the Mattituck Musical Theater Company six years ago, “This is the first time that we’ve taken on a show with a serious message. That has been a challenge but also a blessing, as we work to grow as a theater program and broaden our students’ talents and experience,” Gilvarry said.
