Former Greenport United Methodist Church Put on the Market For Nearly $2 Million
The church has closed down since June.

The former Greenport United Methodist Church, which closed down this past June, has been put on the market for almost $2 million.
The church building, which has been listed by Douglas Elliman Real Estate, has the “potential for many creative ideas,” thanks to its central location on 624 First Street in Greenport, according to the listing.
The listing price of $1,995,000 includes the 6700-square-foot building plus a 2200-square-foot 4 bedroom, 1.5 bathroom parsonage with on-site parking.

The 0.76-acre property is located in a “floating” residential zone which means it can be used for many things including a non-single-family residential use, which would require approval from Southold Town, listing agents Kristy Naddell told Newsday.
“Our thought is that some developer can put apartments or condominiums in there,” Naddell told Newsday. “You have the Main Street exposure, but you have that classic kind of historic look to the building, so if they can make something cool out of it and great for the town, then it would be a very interesting transition.”
