Happy Mother's Day To Dr. Marilyn LoPresti

NORTH FORK, NY — Whether it's through their personalities, looks, hobbies, or a combination of everything, children become a reflection of the woman who raised them.

With Mother's Day 2021 right around the corner, we are celebrating that special bond by inviting Patch readers across the state to share their mother-daughter and mother-son photos. Happy Mother's Day!

Christine LoPresti submitted the following for mom Dr. Marilyn LoPresti:

Why she is special: My mom is special because she inspires me and many others! She is a 76 year old, 3-time breast cancer survivor. She is currently taking daily chemotherapy medication which wears her out by late afternoon. Yet she teaches low impact aerobic and Tai Chi classes daily on Zoom. She has been helping many of her students to improve their life and health. She is a widow and while at times sad without the love of her life, she never lets that show. She is smiling, happy, and and showing others that moving and staying healthy even during a pandemic is something we all can do. She’s a 2nd degree black belt. Some Moms like flowers and candy for Mother’s Day. Mine likes martial arts swords and weapons! She is quite special!
