July 4 Boat Parade To Set Sail In New Suffolk

A red, white and blue show of patriotic pride will set sail as the 2nd Annual July 4 New Suffolk Boat Parade takes place on Sunday.

NEW SUFFOLK, NY— A patriotic boat parade is ready to set sail in New Suffolk on July 4.

The 2nd Annual New Suffolk 4th of July Boat Parade takes place on Sunday at 11 a.m. Those participating should meet at the red nun west of Robins Island no later than 10:45 a.m.; the parade will begin to wend its way north toward New Suffolk at 11 a.m.

Onlookers can view the festivities from the beach or Steamboat Wharf.

Those who wish to register should go to NSboatparade@yahoo.com and include the vessel name, captain, and crew; Kurtatsea will serve as the lead boat. Participant are asked to check in before the parade kicks off.

"This is intended to be a patriotic and light-spirited event," organizers said. "We ask that any political or unrelated agendas not be included in the parade. Keep it nautical."
