Landscaper Seriously Injured By Falling Tree Branch
The worker was unable to move his legs and was airlifted to the hospital, police say.
SOUTHOLD, NY —A landscape worker for a North Fork nursery was seriously injured when a falling tree branch hit him in the head, police said.
According to Southold Town police, the incident took place on Wednesday at 12:52 p.m. on South Harbor Rd. Landscape workers for a local nursery and landscaping firm were cutting down trees when a large tree branch fell on the head of one of the men, Issac Ovellana, of Peconic, who was seriously injured.
Ovellana, who was unable to move his legs, was treated at the scene by Southold Fire Department rescue and Stony Brook University Hospital's first responder unit, police said.

He was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital via Suffolk County Aviation for treatment, police said.
