LIVE OUTAGE UPDATES: Outages Jump Above 6600 as Ice, Snow Knocks Out Power

Utility restoring power across the area as second storm of the week hits Long Island.

UPDATED, 11:25 a.m. – A second icy storm in just one week caused scattered power outages across Long Island on Wednesday, with more than 6,600 customers reported to be without power by utility PSEG-LI.

Wednesday's storm dumped snow on the region overnight, but began to change to an icy drizzle by morning. That heavy snow on tree branches, coupled with the ice, could cause trees to snap.

The following breakdown by municipality is available on PSEG-LI's outage map.

BABYLON - 207
BROOKHAVEN - 11
EAST HAMPTON - 7
HUNTINGTON - 547
ISLIP - 368
SMITHTOWN - 310
SOUTHOLD - 216
