Lost, Deaf Dog Found Safe In Snowstorm: 'We Are Forever Grateful'
A kind couple found Peaches, who is old and deaf, standing in the middle of the road in a snowstorm and brought her to safety.

GREENPORT, NY — A little lost dog, old and deaf, is home safe after getting lost in Monday's snowstorm.
Doreen Clark, of Greenport, said Peaches was let out per the usual morning routine but didn't come right back as she normally does.
Clark then posted a message on Facebook.

"If anyone has seen our precious Peaches, she is missing," she wrote. "Our hearts are broken."
Peaches hadn't been feeling well the past couple of days, she said. "She's old and deaf," she added. "And of course, it has to be a blizzard, too. We were devastated."

Four hours had passed and Clark said her fears were mounting. She called local shelters and had just called the North Fork Animal Hospital when, at the same time, an Orient couple was calling the same veterinarian to say they found Peaches standing in the middle of North Road in the snowstorm.
Peaches had wandered about a quarter-mile from home, Clark said.
Peaches was picked up quickly, brought home and is now "safe and sound and eating," Clark said.
To the couple that saved her, Clark said: "'Thank you so much.' I can't thank them enough for doing such a kind thing. We are forever grateful."
