Man Charged With DWI After Crashing Into Utility Pole: Police

The crash took place in Greenport, police say.

GREENPORT, NY — A Greenport man was charged with driving while intoxicated after he crashed into a utility pole, police said.

According to Southold town police, the crash took place on Wednesday at 11:31 p.m. on Flint Street in Greenport. Charles Cisterino, 31, was arrested and charged with DWI, first offense; driving without a license; refusal to take a breath test; and drinking alcohol in a motor vehicle on a highway, police said.

After police determined that Cisterino was intoxicated, he was arrested, transported to police headquarters, processed, and held for arraignment, police said.
