Man Charged With DWI In Greenport: Police
He left a Front Street tavern and drove off, police say.

GREENPORT, NY — A Greenport man was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated Friday night, police said.
According to Southold police, the incident took place at 9:53 p.m. on Third Street in Greenport. Michael Fortino, 43, reportedly left a tavern on Front Street in what appeared to be an intoxicated condition and drove off in a 2007 black Ford Ranger, police said.
An officer located and stopped the vehicle for traffic violations; Fortino was found to be intoxicated was arrested and charged with DWI, first offense, as well as traffic violations, police said.

Fortino was transported to Southold police headquarters for processing and was held to await morning arraignment, police said.
