Mattituck Cinemas To Reopen With Lucharitos Concession Stand
Lucharitos is partnering with the owners of Mattituck Cinemas for a "truly unique experience," said Marc LaMaina, owner of the taqueria.

MATTITUCK, NY — It's great news for North Fork movie lovers: After being shuttered for the pandemic, Mattituck Cinemas is set to reopen in July — and for the first time, the theater will partner with Lucharitos to present mouthwatering new offerings at the concession stand.
"We are excited to announce that the theater will be reopening July 4th weekend," said Marc LaMaina, who owns the Lucharitos taquerias, including the Lucharitos Burrito Bar, which opened next to the theater in August.
The cinema will reopen with four theaters showing first-run films, LaMaina said. "F9", the next in the series of "Fast & The Furious" movies, is one of the films that will kick off opening weekend, he added.

Lucharitos will be taking over the concession stand, LaMaina said, offering not just the classics but Lucharitos-inspired items including nachos, popcorn chicken and fries, giant pretzels and queso, Lucha dogs and more.
Right now, tables from the Burrito Bar are set up outside the theater but will be moved a bit to allow for accessibility to the movie theater, LaMaina said. A full renovation will be done in January, he added.

"For now we want to get back into the swing of things and get people back inside the theater," he said.
The theater will still be owned by the Cardinale family, LaMaina said. "We are partnering with them to make it a truly unique experience!" he said.
Kevin Sage, LaMaina's partner in the Burrito Bar, will be overseeing the day-to-day operations of the opening, he said. "Working with Kevin we have a very talented team, including chef Alex Gaitan and managers Devin McMahon and Boris Frtus, who will also be on the launch team. We have a very talented staff at that location," LaMaina said.
LaMaina said he is currently hiring concession staff; those interested in applying can reach out to him on the Lucharitos Facebook page.
