Peconic Landing to Host Scott Russell, George Hubbard For 'State of Greenport Village and Southold Town' Address

The event takes place at Peconic Landing in Greenport on Tuesday, beginning at 8 p.m.

The public will have the chance to hear Southold Town Supervisor Scott Russell and Greenport Village Mayor George Hubbard discuss the issues at Peconic Landing’s ”State of Greenport Village and Southold Town” address.

The event is slated to take place on Tuesday, January 26, beginning at 8 p.m.

The elected officials will present and discuss popular issues and policies being discussed at the government level. Following their discussion, the floor will open up for a question and answer period.

“It is the perfect opportunity to hear and ask questions about the important issues that face us on a daily basis. Both officials are bright, engaging and open-minded,” Peconic Landing representatives said.

The event is free to all, and presented by Peconic Landing’s Lifetime Learning Speakers Bureau, which is run by Peconic Landing members.

Next month’s topic will feature a discussion on the East End deer population and public health.

Russell said the event is an annual gathering, usually a precursor to the supervisor’s state of the town address, which will be presented in a few weeks. He plans to recap town issues and outline goals for 2016, he said.
