Services For Beloved Former Southold Fire Chief Begin

SOUTHOLD, NY — H. William “Bill” Sawicki of Southold, Southold Town Police Department Lieutenant and former Southold Town Fire Department Chief and Commissioner, died on Sunday, March 24, 2019. He was 61 years old.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 27 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Southold.

The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday morning, March 28 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Ostrabrama Roman Catholic Church in Cutchogue, officiated by Father Mariusz Gorazd.

Interment will follow at Saint Patrick’s Roman Catholic Cemetery in Southold.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Kanas Center for Hospice Care or Southold Fire Department would be appreciated. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
