Special Weather Statement in Effect for Long Island
National Weather Service warns of foggy conditions Saturday.

The National Weather Service has issued the following special weather statement for Long Island:
AREAS OF FOG...LOCALLY DENSE...ARE EXPECTED TO CONTINUE THROUGH THIS EVENING. MOTORISTS ARE ADVISED TO SLOW DOWN AS SUDDEN DROPS IN VISIBILITY TO LESS THAN 1/4 MILE CAN BE EXPECTED. VISIBILITIES ARE EXPECTED TO GRADUALLY IMPROVE LATE THIS EVENING THROUGH MIDNIGHT.

- Tonight- A chance of showers before 1am. Areas of fog before 1am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 36. West wind 6 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%.
- Sunday- Mostly cloudy, with a high near 47. Breezy, with a west wind 8 to 13 mph increasing to 18 to 23 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 37 mph.
- Sunday Night- Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly clear, with a low around 28. Northwest wind 9 to 18 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph.
- Monday- Mostly sunny, with a high near 46. Wind chill values between 20 and 30 early. Northwest wind 6 to 9 mph becoming west in the afternoon.
