Teens Slice Biden/Harris Political Sign In Half: Police

MATTITUCK, NY — Two boys were caught damaging a "Biden/Harris" political sign in Mattituck, police said.

According to Southold Town Police, on Oct. 6, a homeowner on Sound Avenue told authorities that a large political sign displayed in her front yard had been damaged. The homeowner was able to provide surveillance camera footage that showed one male "in the act of slicing the sign in half with a sharp instrument," accompanied by a second male nearby, police said.

With the assistance of local media resources and members of the public, the pair was identified as two boys, 15 and 17, police said; both appeared before juvenile aid officers Friday morning at Southold police headquarters and were processed as juveniles, police said.
