EAST END, NY — Three days before Congress meets to count and certify the votes cast by the Electoral College — Joe Biden received 306 and Donald Trump garnered 232, with 270 needed to win the presidential election — Trump supporters are planning to rally on the North Fork and in Riverhead on Sunday.

On December 14, an Electoral College vote affirmed President-elect Joe Biden's victory to become the 46th U.S. president. But Trump and his supporters have continued to allege fraud and some see Jan. 6 as a chance for Trump to overturn the election.

On Wednesday, after the votes are counted, incumbent Vice President Mike Pence will declare the winners.

But according to Forbes.com and other news outlets, as many as 140 House Republicans are reportedly poised to challenge the Electoral College results. Missouri GOP Sen. Josh Hawley said last week that he was intending to raise his objections during the process, according to ABC News.

Sunday's rally, "East Meets West II — Meet in the Middle," was planned in support of that effort, said organizer Vinny Tirelli. Those participating will meet in Jean Cochran Park in Peconic at 12:30 p.m. and head to the old Walmart parking lot at 795 Old Country Road in Riverhead at 1:30 p.m., he said.

"Back to where it all began, NoFo. We’re running from Peconic to Riverhead to meet up with the rest of the Long Island Loud Majority crew, and we’re going to rally like hell. We’re taking the main road all the way to Riverhead. This is a big one, folks. Let’s show them how loud the NoFo is!" Tirelli said.

Tirelli has organized a number of East End "MAGA" parades after meeting Shawn Farash, 29, of West Babylon, whose "MAGA" events got more than one shout out from Trump.

"Today's projection comes when there is insufficient data available with regards to the legitimacy of the ballots found, counted, and processed," Farash said immediately after the November election. "Bipartisan meaningful access to tabulation was denied in several key states in violation of election laws and court orders. . . All we have here is a coordinated effort to influence if not completely steal a U.S. presidential election. Our rally ... is being done to expose these practices and fight for the preservation of free and fair elections."

Trump has lost more than 50 court cases challenging the election, according to the Washington Post.
