Woman Charged With DWI After Crashing Into Tree: Police

She was placed under arrest at the hospital, police say.

SOUTHOLD, NY — A Southold woman was charged with driving while intoxicated after she crashed into a tree Sunday, police said.

According to Southold Town police, the single vehicle crash took place at 6:10 p.m. when Cheryl Sidor, 46, struck a tree at the corner of Route 25 and Laurel Avenue in Southold.

The Southold Fire Department responded and transported Sidor to Eastern Long Island Hospital for minor injuries, police said.

An investigation revealed that Sidor was intoxicated; she was placed under arrest at the hospital and charged with DWI, first offense, police said.

Sidor was treated and released from the hospital; she was then transported back to Southold town police headquarters, where she was processed and held for morning arraignment, police said.
